Imorse möttes jag av ett twitterinlägg där en journalistkollega uppmärksammade en kritikerkollega på att någon tyckte att kritikern i fråga var för gammal för att recensera tv-spel i SVT:s morgonsoffa.
Snubben som är i 50 års åldern och recenserar tvspel åt kidsen på @gomorronsverige? Kanon. Dags att låta LillBabs recensera kampsportsburar?

Min reflexreaktion var att skratta. Det här måste väl ändå vara en av de där desillusionerade 16-åringarna som bara hänger på Reddit och aldrig läser svensk spelkritik? Men nej, så var inte fallet. Kanske borde jag ha fattat att personen måste vara äldre för att dra Lill-Babs-kortet? Vem personen var?
Daniel Breitholtz.
Kanske har du glömt vem Daniel är? Enligt Wikipedia var Daniel en ung musikertalang som startade bandet Headbug och släppte singeln “Ghettoblaster” – som sålde hela 640 exemplar.
Universal och senare BMG (som Daniels pappa varit chef på) insåg storheten i Breitholtz och hans dansanta säckpipedänga och gav honom jobb som promotionperson och senare talangscout. Det var så Bert Karlsson fick nys om Daniel – och signade upp honom som jurymedlem i Fame Factory. Därifrån gick han vidare till det han är mest känd för – som medlem i Idol-juryn.
Tobias Bjarneby, svensk speljournalistiks grand old man, kommenterade det så här:

Huvudet på spiken. Och visst finns det fler saker att ifrågasätta i det här. Till exempel Daniels syn på tv-spel (är de bara för barn?). Och Daniels syn på (spel)kritikern (kan bara barn recensera produkter som främst är ämnade för barn?). För att inte tala om Daniels syn på Lill-Babs.
Dagens Media plockade upp händelsen senare under dagen, när Breitholtz ojat sig offentligt över hur han blivit angripen av nördar:

Men kanske borde vi inte bli förvånade. Daniel Breitholtz främsta livsverk är att vara ett professionellt troll på nationell tv. Att han är samma person i sociala medier borde kanske inte komma som en överraskning. Har dock halvsvårt att sympatisera med honom när han får inkorgen fylld med egen trollmedicin.
Vilket fokus på att förminska Daniel karriär. Känns det bättre då kanske?

Måste alla TV-spelare vara såna häxbrännare? Stoppa undan facklorna och högafflarna, ni FÅR spela spel fast ni är medelålders, men ni kan inte kräva respekt för det. Samma recensent jobbade för övrigt när KG Bergström vikarierade som programledare i SVT-morgon. Man kunde se hur KG rynkade pannan när han läste ”TV-spelsrecension” i manuskorten, och såg den medelålders mannen sitta beredd i soffan. KG inledde samtalet med att spontant utbrista: ”TV-spel, är det ett jobb för en karl?”.
