Just som vi suckar över hur en nästan misstänkt buff Jake Gyllenhaal leker mångmiljonbudgeterad persisk prins har den skamfilade genren för tv-spelsfilm fått ett nytt hopp i en liten videosnutt från en reboot av de pajiga Mortal Kombat-filmerna. Projektet heter Rebirth, är regisserad av Kevin Tancharoen och har Black Dynamite-mannen Michael Jai White i rollen som Jax! Dessutom har man bytt ut seriens invecklade transdimensionella hokus pokus mot avancerade hudsjukdomar och bindgalna psykopater med extrempiercing. Det bådar gott.
Själva videosnutten i dagsläget inte så mycket mer än en konceptskiss, men med tanke på de överväldigande positiva reaktionerna räknar vi med biopremiär sensommaren 2011. Men redan nu kan ni se klippet här.
